Tokyo Marathon 2019 – This event never disappoints. After a big campaign over Summer and the Christmas holidays with our team foregoing…(or supposedly foregoing) Christmas drinks, New Years parties and Summer cocktails by the beach - they were primed and ready. Sunday March 2nd was THEIR big day and I got to watch on as 12 of our very tough ProSport individuals tackled 42.2k in wet and cold conditions. The Tokyo Marathon usually provides cool running conditions, which along with a reasonably flat course generates fast times and personal bests. This year certainly didn’t disappoint, with a number of PB’s amongst our team. The team did battle through the wet day though and a level of mental toughness is required when it rains - the rain continued steadily throughout the entire day making for somewhat miserable conditions (wet clothes / wet socks & shoes). I positioned myself at the 30k mark to cheer the group on & managed to get some high fives, curse words and big smiles. It was amazing to see everyone one so pumped and happy at the 30k mark. The days that followed were a chance for the group to let their hair down together and enjoy some of Tokyo’s hospitality and finest whisky bars! Another cracking trip for the Tokyo Marathon. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2020. Email us today for info on next years package.
