Ten days of hiking in through the European Alps during their summer with an amazing group of people. Could it sound any better? Tour du Mont Blanc is unlike Kokoda, Mt. Kilimanjaro and other treks, which are traditionally off the beaten path. No tents just small family hotels and refugios, no sleeping bags just pure comfort with doonas and beds, no camping food just red wine, flowing beers and amazing French, Swiss and Italian cuisines.

Never should this trek be seen as a 'walk in the park', in fact it's quite difficult, however it's the creatures of comfort, which separates this from the rest.

TMB is certainly a challenging trip as mentioned above. Ten days encompasses over 150km of trekking and utilising the French community of Chamonix as our home away from home. Approximately 10,000m of vertical elevation gained and lost along the way, river crossings and unpredictable weather conditions are only some of the minor challenges you will meet along the way.

Did I mention how good the food is?? If you love French and Italian food, then this is your trip. All you need to do is walk to each meal with a few undulating slopes along the way.

My training tips:

1. Focus on your leg strength. Lots of squats, step-ups and lunges. This is the key to hiking TMB.
2. Dress in layers. Being prepared for any weather conditions is very important. Just because you go during their summer doesn't mean you won't get rain, snow or hail!
3. Have an open mind. The scenery you will see cannot be prepared for. Enjoy every moment and never get use to it!
